On July 4, 2025, actor Kurt Russell made a visit with his son, Boston, to the home of his eighth great-grandfather, Jason Russell, who was brutally killed by ministerial -British- forces on the doorstep of his home during their retreat from Concord on the afternoon of April 19, 1775. Jason Russell’s house was in the western Cambridge village of Menotomy -modern day Arlington- and is now preserved by and the homebase of the Arlington Historical Society.

Mr. Russell’s sons had been studying their family history, and they only recently found out about their famous ancestor and planned the visit to the Arlington Historical Society with Revolution 250, an organization formed to commemorate the 250th of the American Revolution. Revolution 250’s Jonathan Lane was kind enough to supply Kurt with two copies of our book Bullet Strikes From the first day of the American Revolution, and Kurt then asked for another six copies for his relatives!

While Doug Scott and I were sadly not there for his visit, Kurt and Boston were taken through the house and all of the bullet strikes we researched in the book were shown to him, with local press in tow.
